Live from a Mac

Monday, May 1st, 2006

Tonight’s entry is coming to you from inside the soft aqua glow of a new MacBook Pro. No, I didn’t get one….yet, but my loving mother let me borrow hers for the evening (my guess is so I fiddle with it and find all the stuff she’ll need come tomorrows workday).

I must say I absolutely love it, and am sure to become a bigger Apple fanboy.

Anyway, me and Jeff have embarked on something that has been occupying my mind for the last few days. We’re poised to launch our very own Web App this month and I hope it’s the first of many. Heck, we may even turn a small profit from it, though thats not the reason behind creating it. I’ll be sure to let all 5 of you know as soon as it launches.

Help Me Get Smarter!

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

Brain AgeThe internet sure has some really cool things going for it: Up to the minute news, huge sprawling communities for any subject you can think of, a wealth of information that rivals the library of Alexandria. But of these there is one thing that rises above the rest. Online begging. That’s right, I can now panhandle without even leaving my comfy chair. So rejoice with me, and donate a buck or two to help me get Brain Age. It’ll make me smarter so I won’t have to beg anymore.

Ruby Is Awesome

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

But I’m abandoning it in favor of CakePHP, which is just more practical since Jeff is already very familier with it. Sorry to let no one down.

In other news, I donated a design to a site called Windjay (it’s not up yet) that does extensions for the up-and-coming media player Songbird.

Railstastic

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

The Ruby On Rails version of this blog is coming along quite nicley, and I’m really glad I’m learning it. Now I just have to sot tight and hope Media Temple’s Shared Server 6.0 upgrade happens soon.

I was right.

Haven’t touched Second Life in days, due mostly to the fact that my wife bought me Animal Crossing: Wild World for my Nintendo DS (which she also has for her’s). I feel like we reconnected some long lost teenage attribute we lost along the path to parenthood. Strangley enough, the house has never been cleaner and the kids happier. Could video games be making us more responsible?

Yay for Hearmusic.

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

XM Radio’s Hearmusic station (owned by Starbucks) is having a good day today. Rocky Votolato followed by Rosanne Cash and ended with Sufjan Stevens was the best unintentional 3-in-a-row I’ve ever heard.
